Using a large format view camera, my work mines the public and private archive, exploring collective memory and family history through site-specific and community-based projects. My practice is inquisitive and meditative, equal parts documentary and autobiography as I investigate notions of empowerment, authorship and community. I’m interested in research, site and the physicality of images. I’m fascinated by the archive, both as an impulse to preserve/collect and to create/record new materials, and my artistic practice considers each possibility. I believe strongly in the power of the local within the global, in art that engages and empowers communities. contact:
